Are you being controlled by colour? - Visual Culture in High-End Fashion
For my university project on visual culture, I conducted in-depth research into color theory and its impact on consumer buying habits, particularly within the context of high-end fashion brands. My research explored how these brands strategically use color to influence and control consumer behavior.
The culmination of this research was a magazine titled "Are you being controlled by colour." This magazine aimed to educate consumers about the psychological effects of color and how it shapes their purchasing decisions. It featured comprehensive articles on the psychology of color, detailed explanations of color theory, and case studies of various high-end fashion brands, illustrating how they utilize color to drive sales.
To make the content more engaging and accessible, I included visually appealing infographics that summarized key points and an interactive flow chart game. This game allowed readers to discover which colors have the most influence on their buying habits, providing a personalized and interactive learning experience.
Overall, this project combined rigorous academic research with creative design to produce an informative and engaging magazine that empowers consumers with knowledge about the subtle ways in which they are influenced by color in the world of high fashion.
